Museum activities
Student groups can reserve free visits to permanent exhibitions, during or outside regular opening hours to the public, or take advantage of a wide and varied range of educational services. At a fee, there are also workshops, offering hands-on activities, making the student the protagonists of the learning experience.
All the activities in the museum, in the classroom and in the surrounding area are carried out taking into account the educational and pedagogical needs of the various schools and levels.
The museum also promotes naturalistic knowledge through temporary exhibitions, courses, seminars, conferences, workshops for adults, animated events for families and children, birthday parties and themed summer camps for children and teenagers. Promoting the principles of sustainability on which the future of our planet depends has also become a focal point for our initiatives in recent years.
An internal themed library, included in the interlibrary system of the province of Sondrio, offers scientific and informative texts, largely admitted to the interlibrary loan system.
The museum also studies the materials preserved in its collections and investigates specific naturalistic aspects of the provincial territory, in collaboration with external researchers and with the support of other bodies. Thanks to the contribution of the volunteers of the G.F. Massara floristic Group, 50,000 data entries have been made on the presence of plant species, which will contribute to drafting an atlas of the geographical distribution of vascular plants in the province of Sondrio.
